Today is the day we remember the people who answered the call when they were asked to defend their country. This is the day we remember those who did so much more than we should have ever expected from them. Today we remember those who came back, forever changed by what they had seen. Today is the day we wear poppies, and bow our heads in silence, for the ones who died. Be they buried in the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, or among many, lying in the rows of crosses, buried where they died, never to come home. We must not break faith with those who died. For today, we simply remember.
