Happy Commonwealth Day!
To mark the occasion, today Queen Elizabeth II signed a historic charter noting the core beliefs of the commonwealths, including equality for all. The charter is seen as an important step towards gay rights. While it does not specifically mention discrimination against the LGBT community, the charter does say that it is opposed to discrimination in any form.
Particular interest is that the Queen, and the monarchy in general is usually apolitical and usually does not make statements on controversial issues.
